Please use this website and the Hollies page on the ICB website for the latest updates on services and developments.

Update on services:

Please find below an update on progress as work continues to stabilise and improve GP services for everyone registered at The Hollies.

  • Non-urgent online consultations are available via Accurx’s online consultation tool.
  • Prescription requests are being processed. Please don't drop off repeat prescriptions at the practice - you can request them online through Accurx or via the NHS App.
  • Home visits where clinically appropriate
  • Face to face appointments are taking place at alternative local locations during core business hours
  • Face to face appointments are taking place at alternative local locations during core business hours
  • Additional face to face appointments during the evening and at weekends are also available
  • We kindly ask that patients do not attend the practice in person while we work to reopen safely.

Other ways you can access medical help:

  • For life-threatening emergencies, call 999
  • For urgent but non-life-threatening care out of hours, contact NHS 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk
  • Emergency prescription requests can also be submitted via 111 online: Emergency prescriptions - NHS 111
  • Repeat prescriptions can continue to be ordered through the NHS App or SystmOnline
  • Local pharmacies can help with minor illnesses, medication queries, and healthcare advice for coughs, colds, sore throats (age 5+), ear infections (age 1-17), skin infections and urinary tract infections in women (age16-64) through the Pharmacy First service .
  • You can use the NHS App to access your health record, order repeat prescriptions, and more. Find out how to register for the NHS App, and information about local digital support groups at NHS App - Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System
  • Support with digital access is also available locally

Access to the surgery building:

Regaining access to The Hollies Surgery building remains a priority. We are having positive and constructive discussions with the landlord, with the aim of agreeing a new lease once the remaining legal matters linked to previous arrangements are resolved in the coming months. We will share a clearer timeline as soon as one becomes available.

GP Services for Patients

While access to the building is being resolved, patients are still able to access the full range of GP services from alternative local locations. Since 5 November:

  • Over 3,850 appointments have been delivered, with additional evening and weekend appointments provided locally
  • More than 1,380 online consultations have been completed
  • Over 19,200 prescriptions have been processed
  • More than 6,000 blood test results have been reveiwed
  • Over 130 patients have signed up to use the NHS App

Staff at the practice have also carried out extensive reviews to improve care for patients with long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. This work has already led to improvements, with more patients being identified and supported to receive the right tests, treatment and safer prescribing.

Listening to Patients

Early patient feedback has been encouraging. Since early December, over 80% of patients responding to the Friends and Family Test rated their experience as good or very good. The provider is reviewing all feedback to support further improvements.

Ongoing communication with the Patient Participation Group helps us to share progress, listen to feedback and work together to strengthen patient communications and services.

We will continue to update this page as further progress is made.

You can find further information on this matter on the Mid and South Essex ICB website

This website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative.

For nearly a century, this practice has developed a comprehensive family health care service to meet the needs of local people. Our extended and refurbished building includes full access for those with disabilities and consists of five consulting suites and four treatment rooms. We also provide a pram park.

Though based in a traditional setting, we have a full range of up-to-date facilities and equipment and are fully computerised.

Patients can now book an appointment with any of the Doctors who are on duty that day.
