01702 416966
Please ring this number to make an appointment with a doctor or nurse. (This number is only answered during surgery opening hours.)
Same-day appointments are available from 8am. If you would like to schedule an appointment, you can call the provided phone number and stay in the queue. Alternatively, you can select option 1 to use the callback service. This means that you can stay in the same position in the queue and receive a call back when it is your turn to schedule an appointment. This can save you time and avoid the need to wait on hold.
Should you wish to cancel your booked appointment, please do either of the following so your appointment is not wasted:
- Reply CANCEL to your text reminder
- Call the surgery on 01702 416966
- Email the surgery at admin.hollies@nhs.net if the cancellation request is at least 48 hours in advance of the appointment time.
Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong with me?
GP reception staff are important members of any practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why they need to be seen’.
Reception staff have been trained to ask certain questions to help make sure you receive:
- the most appropriate medical care,
- from the most appropriate health professional,
- at the most appropriate time.
Reception staff, like all members of a GP practice team, are bound by patient confidentiality.
Patients can see any GP provided they are on duty and have availability. Each appointment is for one patient only. Please make a separate appointment for each member of your family if required. When you phone the surgery we will do our best to offer you an appointment on the same day subject to availability. Alternatively we can offer a telephone consultation with a Doctor but please be aware that you may still be asked to come in to the surgery after this if the Doctor feels this is necessary. We also offer the opportunity to book an appointment up to four weeks in advance.
If you feel your condition is medically urgent we will offer you a telephone triage on the same day with the Doctor at their convenience, but please ensure that you are available to take the call.
We can now offer appointments for patients to see a doctor or nurse at another surgery on a Saturday or Sunday. Please contact reception (extension 1) for further details.
We are introducing new software for sending text messages to patients called IPLATO. This system allows messages to be sent to patients to remind them of an appointment they have booked and it will also give patients the option to cancel their appointment via text message. If you have not already provided your mobile number to the surgery, please call us on 01702 416966 to provide us with this information.
